Removing financial barriers to justice. We help fund quality immigration legal representation and related expenses so individuals and families have a meaningful opportunity to pursue their rights and legal options.

Emergency Support

Helping families weather an immigration crisis. We provide emergency assistance for essential needs such as housing, food, medical care, and other necessities when detention or immigration challenges threaten a family's stability.

Advocacy & Education

Amplifying voices and strengthening community. We educate our community about immigration issues, connect people with trusted resources, and advocate alongside immigrants and families whose voices too often go unheard.

Why We Exist

FIJF grew out of years spent walking alongside immigrant families – as ESL teachers, foster parents to unaccompanied migrant children, advocates, friends, and neighbors. Our own lives and families have been shaped by immigration, cross-cultural ministry, and relationships with people seeking safety and belonging here.

Together, we have sat beside families navigating detention, separation, and an overwhelming immigration system. We have walked with wives whose husbands are detained, cared for children awaiting reunification, and watched families suddenly need thousands of dollars for an attorney, appeal, or urgent legal proceeding.

Again and again, we encountered the same reality: quality legal help existed, but the money to access it did not. FIJF was created to bridge that gap.

Compelled by God’s call to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly, we believe every person bears the image of God and possesses inherent dignity. This work isn’t distant from us as it is woven into our lives, our relationships, and our community. We walk alongside our immigrant neighbors because they are, quite simply, our neighbors.
